We produce crisps and other snacks like nobody, but we do not undervalue what we do. Not that the product is not good – it is very good! – but the price is minimal. And the service, as you want it to be: global and excellent. We work with most of the distribution brands in Portugal, Spain, France and Portuguese-speaking Africa, and that means something, right?

By good manufacturing practice, anchored in strict compliance with the current legislation and a commitment to the rigor we have with our customers and consumers, we have obtained certification of our management systems in the areas of quality, environment, occupational health and safety and food safety in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 22000 and IFS, respectively.

The Development

1971
- Setting up of the Company Pinhos & Silva, Lda
1990
- Setting up of SIA Aperitivos, Lda;
- The famous Douradas Caseiras and the Super Douradas are introduced in the market.
1991
- Longa Vida buys SIA;
- Separation of Dairy, Crisps and Snacks
  into 3 business units;
- The first production line of Crisps and
  Snacks is installed in Tentúgal.
1992
- Joint venture between Grupo Longa Vida and KP Foods (Grupo United Biscuits);
- Launch of Sr. Basílio brand.
1994
- English United Biscuits Group
  acquires the entire SIA.
1996
- SIA becomes part of the
  Spanish group Grefusa.
2004
- Grefusa focuses its production on own brands. Investment in a new production line of Light Crisps, a novelty in Portugal.
2007
- SIA returns to be Portuguese property,
  by the action of two national investors.
2010
- Significant increase in capital and
  conversion into a Public Limited Company.
2011
- Execution of a large investment program
  that doubled the production capacity.
2012
- Strengthened incorporation of new technologies in various stages of the manufacturing process, quality and logistics.
2014
- Grupo Altho joins SIA.
2017
- New identity and packaging of Sr. Basilio
